The Schleich company was founded by Friedrich Schleich in 1935 - originally as a supplier of plastic parts. He sold his very first figure "JoPo" only 15 years later - that is, in 1950, when the flexible doll saw the light of day. This was followed by the rapid growth of the company, which expanded the range offered by other characters made from different materials.

Another important milestone came in 1955, when Friedrich Schleich bought the license from Walt Disney and could start producing popular characters - for example Bambi, Pluto, the Smurfs or Mickey Mouse. In 1970, the production of plastic figures became famous thanks to television advertising, which greatly contributed to the growing interest in the products. Two years later, the Schleich company expanded its range with the first series of miniature animals made of PVC - a family of lions, an elephant and a kangaroo were created. In 1980, the company began to produce its own animal figures , which were not only of high quality, but above all made by hand.

Although the headquarters of the company is in Germany, the toys are also sold in the world - specifically, for example, in Great Britain, Australia or North America. As interest grew, so did the range offered. The company currently offers animal characters from the Farm Word and Wild Life series. Among other things, it also produces knights, dinosaurs and elves.
