Knabstrupper foals already have the typical spots at birth that are characteristic of the breed. Most of them have a white coat with black spots, but there are also individuals with the opposite colouring, i.e. with a dark coat and white spots. Interestingly, the spots of Knabstruppers can change throughout their lives, making each horse truly unique.
